About

Art is an expression of one's self and with "Light of the World" we hope to express two of the things we are most passionate about: 3D animation and Christ. The story focuses on relatable characters in common, yet exaggerated situations. Mature audiences will appreciate the narrative layering and metaphors that are woven into this tale. We believe there is a void in Christian media between children's shows like Veggie Tales and adult movies like Courageous. Our goal is that with "Light of the World" we produce a Christian animation from which everyone can gain something and find enjoyment.

Fundraising
We are seeking to cover our hard cost through donations. So that we may begin production on the film..

Synopsis

Mike is forced to get a job at a gas station/convenience store working the night shift by his father. After a horrific first few nights a storm strikes and cripples the station. Mike uses this opportunity to turn away customers by pretending the store is closed. Meanwhile he gets paid to do nothing and play around all night. As he begins to fail keeping up the lie he slowly begins to learn what it means to be Christ like.

Kickstarter

From May 29th to July 28th 2012, we where involved in a Kickstarter campaign to fully fund our project. For the campaign we had a modest marketing budget and garnered a good amount of press. Although we received a huge amount of positive feedback from everyone we ultimately did not achieve our goal of $90,000.

We learned a lot from the Kickstarter experience and met a lot of great people. So while we may not have achieved our goal raising enough money to fully fund the project, we feel it was still very much a worth while experience.

Brian McKenzie

Brian McKenzie, the creator of "Light of the World," has been in the computer graphics industry for almost a decade, doing everything from feature film special effects to environments and 3D cinematics. He has produced hundreds of 3D animations for demonstrative and advertising purposes, and has also worked on other Christian animations, such as "Storyteller Cafe."

Chris Sosa

Chris Sosa's passion for creating character animation started when he was introduced to 2D and 3D software packages in high school. His career in animation began immediately after college as an animator for a Christian Television Show "Storyteller Cafe". He worked on the show, bringing life to toys that reenacted stories from the Bible. Since then, he has worked on various children's animated series, TV commercials, and short films. His love for bringing characters to life is not just a job, it's a passion.
